Inlays and Onlays in City of London
These restorations differ from fillings as they are fabricated using a laboratory or other technology outside of the mouth. They can be constructed from either a tooth coloured material such as porcelain or a metal like gold. Inlays and onlays are considered to be a better alternative to a filling as they are often stronger. In addition in some situations it can be difficult to ensure an excellent contact between a filling and an adjacent tooth. With an inlay or onlay this can be perfected outside of the mouth prior to fitting.
Onlays are designed to protect one or more corners of a tooth from stress and risk of fracture if it is weak or thin. An onlay is a more conservative option than a crown.
The cost of an onlay is from £445 depending on the material chosen. Both of these options require two appointments.
“I used to fear trips to the ‘Dentist’… until my first visit to Smile Hub over 10 years ago. Catherine and her team put me at ease and changed my mindset.
They are always, without fault; – professional, reassuring, patient and excellent at what they do.”
